E-Mail Cleanup

#1: Empty Spam Folder

1.    Open Gmail

2.    Use the menu icon in the left corner to view the list of labels

3.    Tap the Spam Label

4.    Tap Delete All Spam Messages Now

#2: Empty Trash Folder

1.    Open Gmail

2.    Use the menu icon in the left corner to view the list of labels

3.    Tap the Trash Label

4.    Tap on Empty Trash Now

#3: Mass Delete

1.    Open Gmail

2.    In search bar at top type “is:unread”

3.    Place a checkmark in top box to select all emails that are unread.

4.    This will pull up all unread emails.  It will only display 100 at a time.

5.    At the top click “Select all conversations that match this search.”  

6.    Click the trash can to delete these.  This will go to trash.  


#4: Archive Emails: this takes them from your feed and moves them to a folder

1.    Open Gmail

2.    Select the emails you want archived using the checkboxes on the left side.

3.    Click on the Archive option on your Gmail toolbar.

4.    You can then find the email when you go to “All Mail” tab.

5.    You can even choose to put the email back into your inbox by clicking on the “Move to Inbox” option.
