Policy 6118 – State Mandated Curriculum-Mental Health Awareness

District students will receive instruction on mental health awareness at some point during grades
9-12. Students with disabilities will participate to the extent appropriate and to the extent
consistent with the IDEA and Section 504 provisions of the Mental Health Awareness Program.

Mental health awareness will be included in the District’s health or physical education
curriculum. Such instruction shall be consistent with the Mental Health Awareness Program
developed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
